Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) Essentials Refresher Course

The CNAP Refresher Course is a focused, two-part program designed exclusively for past CNAP participants seeking to refresh and reinforce their nonprofit accounting expertise. This streamlined course revisits key concepts, updates participants on best practices, and addresses recent developments in nonprofit financial management—without the need to retake the full seven-week curriculum.
Attendees will:
- Revisit essential concepts from the CNAP Essentials course including the basics of nonprofits, including governance, GAAP revenue recognition, and the preparation of audits and financial statements
- Review skills in budgeting, cost allocations, effective fiscal systems, internal controls, and compliance with IRS disclosures and Form 990 requirements
- Apply nonprofit financial management concepts through interactive case studies, real-world examples, and hands-on exercises.
Ideal for nonprofit finance staff, managers, and executives who have previously completed the CNAP program, this refresher ensures your knowledge remains current and actionable, empowering you to continue making a positive impact in your organization.
NOTE: This refresher course does not provide certification. To earn your CNAP certification, you must complete the full CNAP Essentials course.
Prerequisite: Must have previously enrolled in and attended all sessions of the full CNAP Essentials course.

Schedule: This course will run each Tuesday from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (Eastern Time) for two weeks.
COURSE FEE: $225
CPE CREDIT: For professionals completing CNAP online, BDO USA, P.C. is authorized to offer 4 Total CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credits through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy in the following fields:
- Accounting: 4 CPE
To receive CPE credit for participation in a BDO webinar program, you must respond to the occasional polls that appear throughout the program. You will receive an email notification following the program if you completed the necessary polls and qualified for CPE credit. This email will include instructions on how to access your CPE certificate. A minimum of 3 polling questions is required to be asked for every 50 minutes of training.
National Registry of CPE Sponsors
BDO USA, P.C. is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State Boards of Accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual course for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.
Event Cancellation Policy
Event Cancellation by BDO
BDO reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If BDO cancels an event, registrants will have the option to either receive a full refund or transfer registration to a different date.
Event Cancellation by Participant
BDO will offer registrants a full refund less a 3% processing fee for requests made in writing no later than five business days before the event (1 week notice). NO REFUND will be given for requests made later than five business days prior to the training. Registrants can also request to transfer to another class at no extra cost as long as requests are made at least 5 business days before the event; otherwise, a 10% transfer fee will be applied before a transfer can be made.
